The winner will be chosen based on merit and content of the essay. Correct grammar, punctuation, and good writing are also considered!

We would like a piece of your own artwork (or photo/digital image of a 3-dimensional piece) from your school days. This is not an art contest, so this artwork can be from elementary, middle or high school. Have it be one of your favorites that would be fitting for the front of a t-shirt. This can be submitted with your essay or afterward. A copy of the winning essay, corresponding artwork and a photo of the award winner will be posted on our website.

All applicants must have spent three years, minimum, as a student at Newington Public School, be a senior in high school and plan on continuing their education at a 2 or 4-year school, college or university.

Good luck to all!

The sketch that started a scholarship.

The scholarship all started with a sketch made by Sam Boynton while volunteering at the registration table. The sketch became the art for the Fun Run shirt and began a scholarship for a graduating senior who had spent at least 3 years as a student at the Newington Public School. We’ve been honored to provide a scholarship each year since 2007.
